ACR #3

Pack 1 pick 1:

My Pick:

This is a great example of a draft that more or less went wrong. This pick is slightly questionable, as Ranger of Eos is better, but it more or less makes me Naya or Bant, two shards I don’t like drafting very often. The Monk is awesome, but I don’t like taking a three color card that isn’t a board sweeper or total bomb. Since both cards say Bantish things, it hurts us in pack two, where we want lots of 1/1 flyers with exalted. That leaves us with the(preferrably) two for one removal spell that sets us in shards I actually like playing.
Pack 1 pick 2:

My Pick:

Silence is not an option here.
Pack 1 pick 3:

My Pick:

I don’t like Blister Beetle anymore. I could have taken Resounding Roar here, but this is more or less me being a jerk to whoever got the Ranger and Monk.
Pack 1 pick 4:

My Pick:

Well, I offically hate myself.
Pack 1 pick 5:

My Pick:

I don’t know where I’m going to be anymore. I haven’t been given a single U/B card of value.

Pack 2 pick 3:

My Pick:

My draft is going bad, so I’m going to be greedy and hope I can clean house with this card, which is probably playable MD now anyway.

Pack 2 pick 5:

My Pick:

Sad face. This guy is so boring.
Pack 2 pick 6:

My Pick:

Yep, I was feeling good for about four picks, and now I’m back on the train to frown town.

This too!
Pack 3 pick 3:

My Pick:

I like this guy more than Hackblade most of the time. He’s bigger than almost anything in the four drop slot, and this kind of deck usually doesn’t have much in that area.

Pack 3 pick 5:

My Pick:

I have found respect for this card over time. it makes awful decks win games they should not, and in the right kind of deck, really puts pressure on opponents who know you have it.

Pack 3 pick 7:

My Pick:

I should have picked the 4/4 cycler. This card doesn’t fit in this deck.

And this guy is just better anyway.

Wow is my deck a pile. It has some big time potential, but the last several spells I don’t even like playing. This draft happened at Cato’s, so I can’t pull up the games exactly, but I know we won round one against GerryT(who we assume is Gerry Thompson, but it’s MODO, so who knows) by getting some pressure, then having the discipline to not cast Breath of Malfegor once he was at five since he was playing 5c and could easily have a counterspell or something(we were in no real danger of dying, at least not next turn, and if the board didn’t change, we would win anyway). He casts Sylvan Bounty EOT, and we slam the Breath on him. We also won the next game by casting Exploding Borders for four into Breath two turns later. His slowish deck wasn’t able to keep up.

Round two was short, as our bad inconsistent deck finally showed how bad it can be. Not once in the games I played did I ever see a Slave of Bolas.
